OUR SURGERY

At Cooper MediCare, we undertake to ensure that our practice is welcoming, well maintained, easy to navigate and appropriate to the needs of our patients. We are fully wheelchair accessible.

OPENING HOURS

We are open Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm. We strive to go the extra mile for our patients and aim, where possible, to accommodate patients who may be working with appointments after 5pm on request. On Saturday we operate an emergency service with provision of a Doctor On Call from 9am – 1pm.

OUT OF HOURS

We are members of South Doc which provides comprehensive out of hours cover. South Doc can be contacted on 1850 335 999.

APPOINTMENTS

Our appointment slots are 15 minutes long. If you feel you may require more time with one of our Doctor’s or Nurse’s, please let a member of our reception staff know so that we can do our utmost to accommodate you. Every effort is made to adhere to appointment times.

PRIVACY & CONFIDENTIALITY

We ask patients for personal information so that patients can receive the best possible care. All members of staff working in the surgery are under a legal obligation to keep the contents of patients’ medical records strictly confidential. We will, at all times, respect our patients’ privacy and confidentiality.

OUR POLICIES

We have a number of systems in place in order to ensure the smooth running of the surgery which in turn allows for the best possible patient care. We encourage patients to respect these procedures.

HOUSE CALLS

It is always best practice to assess patients in the surgery. Where a house call is requested, the doctor will assess the situation and take the appropriate action. House calls are usually carried out in the evening.

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS

Patients should notify the surgery 48 hours in advance, between the hours of 3pm and 5pm for repeat prescriptions.
